parīkṣitāni pramāṇāni , prameyam idānīṃ parīkṣyate . tac cātmādīty ātmā vivicyate , kiṃ dehendriyamanobuddhivedanāsaṅghātamātram ātmā āhosvit tadvayatirikta iti .
The Instruments of Cognition have been examined ; we now proceed to examine the Objects of Cognition . And the Soul being the foremost among the Objects of Cognition , it is the Soul that we proceed to examine now .
The question to be considered is — Is the Soul ( which is spoken of as ' I ' ) only an aggregate of the Body , the Sense-organs , the Mind , the Intellect , and Sensations ? or is it something different from these ?
